SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fun-Guide Tour Guides are responsible for leading engaging, educational hikes on Mount Seymour that introduce guests to the edible fungi and plants of the Pacific Northwest. Guides should be comfortable speaking to groups, have a genuine interest in mycology and plant identification, and be confident leading hikers safely through mid-mountain and upper-mountain trail terrain in all weather conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong public speaking and storytelling ability; comfortable engaging groups of up to 12+ guests.
- Solid working knowledge of Pacific Northwest edible and non-edible fungi and plant species, or a strong willingness to learn and be trained.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, patient, and approachable manner.
- Strong organizational skills to manage group timing, waivers, and equipment.
- Ability to remain calm and use good judgment in the event of an emergency.
- Background or strong interest in mycology, botany, biology, environmental education, or a related field is an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).
- Previous guiding, interpretive, or teaching experience is an asset.
- Wilderness First Aid certification is an asset.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

- Primarily weekends in October & November
- Some weekday shifts may be available in the event of private group/corporate bookings
- Hourly wage $19.50-$23.00 depending on experience and first aid qualifications
