Summary
The Quality Team leader oversees the activities of QA Technicians in the Quality Laboratory. The primary focus of the position supports the APQP program through the PPAP and launches phases. This will be accomplished by organizing layouts, process capability studies, and gauge R&R studies, compiling and reviewing Theta and supplier PPAP’s, and coordinating GP12 safe launch activities and performance metrics (KPI’s), and various other tracking documents and matrices, including customer reports. Assisting in the implementation of the QMS (quality management system) by assessing ongoing compliance through auditing activities will also be a component of the role.
This position will involve extensive internal and supplier contact and provide clear internal communication in a high pressure and time sensitive environment
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate the activities of QA Technicians (QA lab)
- Evaluate the measurement uncertainty for all gauging referenced in control plans in accordance with customer specific requirements and the AIAG Measuring Systems Analysis (MSA) manual.
- Complete customer PPAP package in accordance with AIAG - PPAP manual and any customer specific requirements following the project timeline. Process approved PPAP’s per procedure.
- Maintain the Initial Production Parts (IPP) Log for the first shipment of a changed process or product as required by the customer.
- Manage PPAP master samples (tracking & storage).
- Disposition damaged/nonconforming gauging per procedure
- Participate in the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and products as laid out in the Quality Department CI Plan.
- Process Engineering Change Requests (ECN’s) in accordance with procedure.
- Conduct internal audits of QMS procedures and processes to assess ongoing compliance. Document and report audit findings to the Quality Manager and other area managers as applicable.
- Validate customer scorecards against internal results and post monthly for employee awareness.
- Perform supplier quality manual reviews and update customer specific cross reference matrix as applicable.
- Review and disposition supplier PPAP’s. Inform suppliers for corrections as necessary and re-evaluate. Communicate customer specific requirements to the supplier ahead of PPAP due date.
- Generate CMM Layout Requests for QA Technicians and prioritize lab activities.
- Analyze, interpret and report on test data (SPC, dimensional layouts, etc.)
- Complete Process Capability studies in accordance with AIAG SPC manual guidelines and any customer specific requirements and communicate them throughout organization. Reference customer specific requirements and the AIAG Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) manual for acceptance criteria regarding critical and significant product characteristics.
Pay: $51,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
