Second Paw is a community-driven pet thrift initiative with a sustainability mission.
We collect quality pre-loved pet supplies, clean and prepare them for resale, and give them a second life—making pet ownership more affordable while reducing waste.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves animals, believes in protecting our environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact in their community.
This isn’t just another part-time job.
We’re looking for someone who wants to become the face of our mission within the community and help Second Paw grow across the GTA.
About the Role
Your job isn’t to sit behind a computer all day. Your job is to help grow Second Paw.
Every shift should contribute to one or more of the following:
- Bringing in more donations
- Building relationships with local pet professionals
- Increasing community awareness
- Inspiring more people to support our mission
- Bringing more shoppers to Second Paw

What You’ll Be Doing
Community Outreach
- Visit local pet businesses, veterinary clinics, groomers, trainers, rescues and other pet professionals.
- Introduce Second Paw and build long-term partnerships.
- Deliver promotional materials.
- Build relationships that increase awareness of our mission.
Growing Donations
- Help educate pet owners about donating quality pre-loved pet supplies.
- Encourage donations throughout the community.
- Help identify new donation opportunities.
- Build relationships with individuals and organizations interested in supporting our mission.
- Assist with organizing donation drives and community initiatives.
Growing Our Community
- Help increase awareness through local Facebook groups and community pages.
- Engage with local pet communities online.
- Answer questions about our mission.
- Help connect more pet owners with Second Paw.
Supporting Events
- Represent Second Paw at community events, markets and networking opportunities.
- Help promote our mission within the local community.
Communication
At the end of every shift, you’ll provide a summary including:
- Businesses visited
- New contacts made
- Follow-ups required
- Donation leads generated
- Partnership opportunities
- Community engagement completed
- Ideas for future growth

- Passionate about animals and improving the lives of pets.

- Friendly, approachable and naturally outgoing.
- An excellent communicator with strong spoken and written English.
- Confident introducing themselves and building relationships with new people.
- Proactive and able to take initiative without waiting to be told every step.
- Results-driven and motivated by making a measurable impact.
- Professional, organized and dependable.
- Comfortable representing Second Paw throughout the community.
