These positions are eligible for the Terminable Allowance. Successful candidate must have obtained an education level at the masters or doctoral in Psychology from a recognized university in Canada (or equivalent). Doctorial level psychologists are to receive an annual amount of $12,000 paid biweekly and Master’s level psychologists are to receive an annual amount of $6,000 paid biweekly.
The psychologist is responsible for maximizing employee performance and wellbeing through the provision of support to operational training and advice to management in the areas of occupational psychology, personnel selection, psychological fitness for high-risk roles, and suitability.
Specifically, psychologists perform the following tasks:
- Conduct occupationally mandated psychological health evaluations (including periodic psychological screening) of employees in high-risk jobs/roles;
- Conduct competency-based psychological evaluations of candidates for specialized jobs/roles; Participate in the development of psychological evaluation guidelines and procedures;
- Refer employees to appropriate support resources (e.g., EAP), or provide therapy sessions to employees in urgent/crisis situation and as necessary;
- Provide advice to management and other health care professionals (e.g., occupational health nurses and physicians) as required;
- Develop and/or deliver mental health-related presentations to employees in high-risk and/or specialized jobs/roles;
- Provide psychological oversight during high-risk training; and Participate actively in the enhancement of the Wellness Program and make recommendations to applicable policies and procedures.
- Prepare research reports for organizational sectors on topics of interest including development and use of assessment tools, mental health in the workplace, organizational psychology and wellness.
- Conduct a review of all available information provided by HR regarding external candidates for employment, interpret the personality inventories results, and conduct an individual semi-structured psychological interview,
- Determine the level of risk associated with the likelihood of counterproductive work behaviours by weighing the potential psychological suitability concerns identified` against any mitigating factors.
- Produce reports aligned with the expectations of the organization.
Master’s or doctoral degree with specialization in clinical, counselling, or forensic psychology.
Candidates must also be registered for autonomous practice with one of the Canadian provincial or territorial College of Psychologists.
The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.
- Significant* and recent** experience in conducting psychological assessments with adults for clinical (diagnostic) purposes.
- Significant* and recent** experience in providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adults.
- Significant is defined as having performed, over a period of two years or more, as a registered psychologist (or doctoral intern), a range of the identified psychological services.

An asset qualification is a qualification which can enhance the ability to perform the work based on current and future business requirements, but which is not strictly required. Positions will be staffed based on the selection decision principle and operational priorities.
- Experience in providing psychological services to employees of military or para-military organizations.
- Experience teaching and/or in delivering mental health-related training to employees.
- Experience in providing psychological consultation, for instance, to third parties, managers/supervisors, or other health care professionals.
- Experience in providing psychotherapy to clients who have experienced trauma.
Candidates may be required to travel across Canada occasionally.
