Enterprise Architect
Location: National Capital Region (Hybrid/On-Site as Required)

Enterprise Architects must focus on specific organizational capabilities or programs areas developing strategies, architectures, and/or plans that are aligned with business goals and objectives including optimizing the entire business ecosystem to enhance performance, security, scalability, and adaptability.
Responsibilities:
- Drive long-term business value through solution alignment with business goals.
- Future-proofing the organization by anticipating and mitigating risks.
- Simplify and standardize the technology and enterprise landscape to reduce complexity and cost.
- Advise executive leadership to embrace strategic initiatives and innovation.
- Engage business and IT stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships.
- Analyze trends and disruptions, and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes.
- Coach and mentor other architects, product owners/managers and business stakeholders to instill architectural thinking.
Tasks:
a) Define and evolve the enterprise architecture framework, principles, and standards.
b) Align architecture strategy with business goals and transformation initiatives.
c) Create target-state architecture models that support scalability, agility, and innovation. Ensuring alignment with business capabilities and architecture domain strategies.
d) Collaborate with senior business leaders to establish high-level strategic roadmaps that align enterprise solutions with business strategies.
e) Recommend and implement architectural patterns that reduce complexity and cost.
f) Promote reuse of common platforms, services, and components.
g) Present architectural insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
h) Advocate for strategic investments in technology and innovation.
i) Participate in architecture review boards and ensure adherence to standards.
j) Work with domain architects, solution architects and subject matter experts to ensure cohesive designs.
k) Maintain the alignment, integration and coordination of architecture activities across different programs, projects and products as they evolve over time.
l) Provide practical advice and best practices to take advantage of new, or emerging, opportunities and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes.
m) Develop and apply minimal viable architectures, which can include a set of standards, reference architecture patterns, principles and guardrails, through the EA governance model, which is informed by the business strategy and corporate governance. Clarifies accountability and provides the focal point for
agile, effective and efficient decision making.
n) Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
o) Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.
Deliverables:
a) Develop or delivery of a strategy document outlining the vision, principles, and strategic direction of enterprise architecture.
b) Development or reporting of a detailed analysis of the existing enterprise architecture practice, including identified gaps.
c) Visual and narrative representations of the target architecture across domains and programs.
d) Develop a phased implementation plan in alignment with the roadmaps developed in collaboration with business and technology leaders.
e) Documentation of approved technologies, design patterns, and architectural guidelines.
f) Meeting minutes, decision logs, and architecture decisions.
g) Presentations and reports tailored for senior leadership to support strategic decisions.
h) Evaluations of proposed projects or changes against the enterprise architecture.
Senior Enterprise Architect
- University undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science or Engineering or Ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience leading enterprise-wide architecture strategy, governance, and roadmap development.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience designing integrated solutions aligned with enterprise standards and business needs.

Intermediate Enterprise Architect
