Property Maintenance & Groundskeeping Technician

Pay: CA$28.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (occasional evenings/weekends for emergencies)

About Us
We are a reputable property management company seeking a skilled, reliable, and self-sufficient Maintenance & Groundskeeping Technician to care for one of our residential properties in south Edmonton. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in solving problems independently, keeping a property looking and running its best, and taking direction from a Community Manager who oversees multiple sites and isn't always on-site.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including:
- Plumbing (toilets, sinks, etc.)
- Electrical (outlets, switches, lighting)
- HVAC systems (basic troubleshooting)
- Drywall, painting, and minor renovations
- Appliance repairs and installations
- Care for all grounds, including lawn mowing and edging, tree trimming up to 6 feet, shrubbery clipping, and weeding
- Maintain and plant flower beds, shrubs, and trees as required
- Collect and remove garbage, seasonal debris, and litter, including leaves from all sidewalks
- Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, parking areas, and building entrances
- Operate and maintain small equipment such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and edgers
- Coordinate with and supervise trades when needed
- Complete work orders in a timely, professional manner and report progress to the Community Manager
- Maintain site inventory and order supplies per company policy
- Keep accurate records of maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping work
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-presented property at all times
- Comply with all company policies, management plans, and procedures
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on maintenance and/or groundskeeping experience
- Solid knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Proven experience operating and maintaining small equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, edgers)
- Comfortable walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling for extended periods
- Physically fit and able to lift, carry, or move items up to 50 lbs
- Able to work independently and exercise good judgment with minimal direct supervision, following direction from a Community Manager who splits time across sites
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a friendly and professional demeanor in a residential setting
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to provide a current police clearance certificate immediately and when requested thereafter
- Available for occasional evenings or weekends in case of emergency
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
