Title: Part-Time Assistant to the Social Director (Activation/Recreation)
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant to the Social Director to support the delivery of engaging programs and activities for our independent residents, including some individuals living with mild to moderate dementia.
In this role, you will work closely with the Social Director to plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational, social, and wellness programs that enhance residents’ quality of life and foster a vibrant community atmosphere.
Schedule:Every Monday and Thursday, and every other Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and leading engaging activities, events, and social programs.
- Support the Social Director in creating meaningful programming tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
- Communicate regularly with residents and families regarding participation, engagement, and well-being.
- Perform administrative duties, including typing, filing, record keeping, and data entry.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly newsletter and activity calendar under the guidance and supervision of the Social Director.
- Provide support for special events and celebrations, with flexibility to accommodate occasional schedule adjustments as needed.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Activation, Recreation Therapy, or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience developing and facilitating programs for seniors, including individuals living with dementia.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for enhancing the lives and well-being of older adults.
- Minimum of one year experience.
