This position is a billable project-oriented position as an independent contractor; that augments full-time staff on an ongoing basis. Hours may vary per week depending on project needs.
The Solution Specialist, D365 Business Central, leverages Dynamics 365 Business Central expertise to ensure effective and high-quality project delivery and achieve positive client outcomes. In this role, the Solution Specialist configures Business Central solutions, analyzes and improves business processes, supports data migration and deployment activities, and delivers effective training and guidance to clients. The Solution Specialist helps ensure clients understand the system, adopt it effectively, and achieve successful outcomes from implementation through continued use.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, a client-focused approach, and the ability to connect business scenarios to practical system use. Working closely with internal project teams and client stakeholders, the Solution Specialist contributes to clear communication, consistent follow-through, strong partnerships, and continuous improvement across projects. This client-facing, project-delivery role reports to the Business Central Practice Lead, providing best practice recommendations and implementing approved solutions through open, honest dialogue in a team-based environment.
- Participate in discovery, analysis, design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, and post-go-live support for Dynamics 365 Business Central projects.
- Work directly with clients to understand business processes, review and validate requirements, support implementation activities, and recommend practical system-based solutions.
- Apply knowledge of financial accounting, business processes, and Business Central functionality to help identify client needs, resolve issues, and support effective system use.
- Configure and support Business Central functionality in alignment with approved solution designs, client requirements, and Encore’s implementation methodology.
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, fit-gap findings, configuration decisions, testing outcomes, and solution recommendations clearly and accurately.
- Identify enhancement, integration, reporting, or customization needs and provide clear information to support scoping, estimates, development, and testing.
- Support data migration planning, direction, validation, and conversion activities.
- Prepare and deliver client training, user education, and enablement materials that help users adopt and confidently use the solution.
- Collaborate with project leads, functional consultants, technical resources, and developers during design, configuration, development, testing, issue resolution, and deployment.
- Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams on assigned work, risks, questions, decisions, and next steps to support strong project coordination and follow-through.
- Lead assigned workstreams or selected fixed-fee solutions, managing priorities, deliverables, documentation, and client communication within agreed timelines.
- University degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent experience; CPA certification is considered an asset.
- MB-800: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Minimum 4+ years of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation experience, preferably with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Strong understanding of core financial processes, including GL, AP, and AR.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Windows-based platforms.
- Confident working directly with clients, delivering training, presenting to diverse audiences, and supporting user adoption through clear, practical and proactive communication.
- Experience supporting analytics and reporting, with the ability to explain and train users on concepts using tools such as Power BI, Jet Reports, and Power Apps.
- Understanding of cloud computing technologies and emerging trends.
- Exposure to operational modules such as manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, or supply chain is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with system configuration and testing processes.
- Experience gathering, reviewing, or validating business requirements and translating them into practical Business Central configuration and user guidance.
- Working knowledge and application of business systems and process analysis (with experience or exposure across industries such as distribution, manufacturing, professional services, high tech, construction, or non-profit considered an asset).
- Familiarity with Business Central ISV solutions such as Jet Reports, Continia, or similar tools is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Copilot and its application within Microsoft business products.

- Must be resident of Canada or the United States and legally entitled to work in resident country.
