We’re hiring a hands-on, people-loving human to help deliver our food and farm education programs. This part time role supports a mix of kids camps, kids cooking classes, school programming, and farm experiences. If you love working with kids and community members, being outside, cooking, and connecting people to local food, this might be the place for you!
Position Details
- Hours: 10–24 hours per week
- Schedule: Weekdays, some evenings
- Location: On-farm, kitchen and community sites,
Programs You’ll Support
- Grow Food / Get Cooking Summer Camps
Help plan and lead fun hands-on summer camps focused on gardening, cooking, land stewardship and food literacy for children.
- Farm-to-Fork Cooking Workshops
Support and deliver interactive cooking workshops where students harvest, prepare, and cook simple meals using local ingredients.
Help host school groups on the farm, leading activities related to growing food, sustainability, and where food comes from.
Key Responsibilities
- Support program planning, prep, setup, and delivery
- Work directly with children, youth, educators, and families
- Lead or assist with cooking and food prep activities
- Help with farm programming tasks (harvesting, washing produce, setup/cleanup)
- Track participation and support basic reporting for programs
- Represent the organization positively at farms, schools, and markets
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Comes with a vulnerable sector criminal record check
- Has a current driver's license and their own vehicle
- Is comfortable lifting 30-40 lbs
- Enjoys and has experience working with all ages including children
- Is comfortable cooking and handling food safely
- Likes being outdoors and getting a little dirty
- Is organized, reliable, punctual and enthusiastic
- Is comfortable with spreadsheets and computers
- Has an interest in food systems, farming, education, or community health
Assets
Experience with teaching, camps, or youth programming
- Knowledge of gardening or local food systems
- First Aid / FoodSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
