Raise is currently hiring a Contract Professional on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Contract Professional in this role will perform the formal management of medium-to-high complexity contracts to ensure that major engineering projects and ongoing operations are delivered safely, with high quality, within budget, and on time. This role acts as a critical bridge between our client, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, applying expert contract management practices and procurement knowledge to maximize supplier performance and minimize risk.
Responsibilities
- Supplier & Relationship Management: Ensure supplier relationships and performance are effectively managed, evaluated, and continuously improved. Establish and maintain meaningful relationships between suppliers, internal stakeholders, and BC Hydro’s supply chain organization to enable the successful implementation of sourcing initiatives.

Contract Administration & Execution: Perform robust contract management activities by applying expert knowledge of contract management practices. Monitor performance, identify variances early, and take timely action to resolve issues and mitigate risk.

Strategic Advisory & Analytics: Conduct detailed analytics, develop tailored strategies, and provide expert advice on contract delivery models and contract-related issues to senior management and project stakeholders.

Governance & Financial Control: Forecast, monitor, and report on contract usage to ensure compliance with BC Hydro’s contract and financial control policies and budget requirements.

Contract Delegation: May fulfill the Hydro Representative Delegate role on Master Services Agreements (MSAs) to ensure contracts are executed in strict accordance with standard terms, conditions, and BC Hydro financial policies.

Procurement Guidance: Provide clear guidance and advice to internal client groups in the sourcing, procurement, and management of goods and services contracts, utilizing a strong understanding of public sector procurement law to achieve maximum value.
Qualifications

9 years of dedicated contract management work experience, with Proven experience managing high-value engineering design contracts.

Demonstrated success with internal and external stakeholder engagement and complex matrix management.

Experience with complex contract negotiations and dispute resolution processes (Nice-to-Have).

Experience working within structured project management frameworks, including the development, tracking, and management of departmental KPIs (Nice-to-Have).

Proficiency with SAP is considered a strong asset; intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required.

Strong working knowledge of public sector procurement law and the application of strategic supply chain concepts.

Advanced English skills (written and spoken) tailored for an executive and technical professional environment.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/qualification framework.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

Assets Professional certification in Project Management (PMP), Supply Chain Management (SCMP), or equivalent.
Additional Information
- Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
