Female Healthcare Aide (HCA) – Palliative & Dementia Care
AAA Homecare Services is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Female Registered Healthcare Aide (HCA) to provide one-on-one care for a client in a private home located in Bearspaw, Rocky View County (NW Calgary area).
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing dignified comfort care and supporting clients through the later stages of life.
Position Details
- Location: Bearspaw, Rocky View County, AB
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM (6.5 hours/day)
- Wage: Starting at $18.50/hour, with opportunities to increase up to $22.00/hour based on experience and performance
- Employment Type: Part-Time / Ongoing
Client Care Needs
- Comfort and palliative care
- Advanced dementia care
- Total care requiring a two-person assist
- Assistance with feeding and hydration
- Monitoring for swallowing difficulties and potential choking risks associated with late-stage dementia
- Personal care, repositioning, and comfort measures
- Supporting quality of life and maintaining client dignity
Qualifications
- Registered Healthcare Aide (HCA) in Alberta
- Valid HCA Certificate
- Experience providing dementia and palliative care
- Knowledge of safe feeding techniques for individuals with advanced dementia and swallowing concerns
- Strong communication skills and clear spoken English
- German language skills are considered a strong asset
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Physically capable of assisting with transfers and personal care
Requirements
- Must have a reliable vehicle and be comfortable driving to a rural/country location
- Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Comfortable working in a home with dogs (dog-friendly environment)
