GDG Canada Inc. is a sustainable applied science group dedicated to managing the risk from West Nile virus and other vector borne diseases.
We are looking for field agents to apply biopesticides to roadside catch basins throughout the Chatham-Kent region. These services are delivered under contract to Chatham Kent Public Health to prevent the development of West Nile virus vector species.
Functions
You will be responsible for treating roadside catch basins with an e-bike to prevent mosquito development, using targeted larvicides.
As a field agent, you will:
With the support of your supervisor, perform treatment independently, planning your work and reviewing your progress each day.
Use ArcGIS data collection software to track your work, observations and treatments on the field.
Provide the appropriate geo-reference localization at each catch basin location.
Requirements
Good physical condition and willingness to work on a bike.
Driver’s license (at least G2).
Interest in working outdoors.
Discipline at work.
Autonomy and resourcefulness.
Capable of working extended hours if required.
Work conditions
Around 36-38 hours per week, 4 days a week, starting Mid-June.
Training to achieve a Pesticide Applicators License.
Salary of 20$/hour.
Possible overtime.
Company e-bike & vehicle to perform your tasks.
