Richco Contracting Ltd. has been putting utilities in the ground across the Lower Mainland since 1989. Watermains, sanitary, storm, earthworks, live traffic, tight urban corridors, environmentally sensitive sites... we do it all.
We're family owned and family run. Richco started 37 years ago and the same hands-on leadership still shows up daily. A lot of our crew have been here more than a decade, and that's not an accident. We look after our people, we back our supervisors, and we don't cut corners to make a day look good on paper.
Right now we're building for the City of Surrey, the City of Port Coquitlam, the Township of Langley, the City of Pitt Meadows, and a steady list of municipal owners who call us first. We need another Site Supervisor to join our team and run a crew!
What you'll be doing
- Running your own crew on underground utility installation projects: watermain, sanitary, storm, services, tie-ins, and everything else that goes along with it.
- Owning safety on your site: toolbox talks, FLHAs, trench and excavation safety, confined space, traffic control coordination
- Reading drawings and specs, setting the plan for the day, and keeping the job moving to grade and to spec
- Coordinating with our general superintendent, the on site inspectors, utility owners, locate contractors, and subtrades
- Tracking production, quantities, and daily reporting so the office has what it needs for progress claims and change orders
- Flagging issues early: unexpected conditions, conflicts, drawing discrepancies, anything that could turn into a claim later
- Coaching the operators, pipelayers, and labourers coming up with you
What you bring
- Deep experience installing underground utilities in a municipal environment, ideally 5 or more years running a crew
- Working knowledge of MMCD, municipal supplementary specs, and what a Contract Administrator expects to see
- Confidence with deep utilities, dewatering, shoring, and live tie-ins
- Safety first, every day. Appropriate and applicable tickets will be assessed upon application (+ the willingness to get current to WorkSafe standards and beyond)
- Valid BC driver's licence and a clean abstract
- A straight communicator who holds a high standard, keeps the office in the loop, and earns respect from the crew instead of demanding it.
