Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and support the overall operations of our optical practice. Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions, lifestyle, and personal preferences
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting and ensure proper alignment of frames
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear maintenance
- Prepare and modify lenses using laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality standards
- Verify prescriptions and ensure compliance with medical guidelines
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of eyewear fittings and sales
- Support retail sales efforts by providing excellent customer service and product knowledge
- Collaborate with optometrists and other staff to deliver comprehensive eye care services
- Manage inventory levels of frames, lenses, and accessories to ensure availability
Qualifications
- Laboratory experience with lens cutting, edging, or mounting is a plus
- Prior optical experience or retail sales background is highly desirable
- Familiarity with optical software systems such as Epic or similar platforms is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a professional appearance and demeanor
- Experience in retail management or sales can be beneficial for leadership opportunities
