Overview
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions efficiently, and creating a welcoming shopping environment. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus, as they enhance our ability to serve diverse customers effectively.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity
- Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer experience
- Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure merchandise is properly displayed
- Assist customers with inquiries about products, store policies, or services
- Manage customer returns and exchanges efficiently
- Keep the checkout area clean and organized throughout the shift
- Support inventory management through merchandising and stock replenishment when needed
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or follow-up calls
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cashiering, retail sales, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
