Retail Sales Associate (Part-Time)
Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our convenience store team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, operating the cash register, maintaining store presentation, and supporting daily store operations in a fast-paced retail environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, the ability to work independently, and experience with cashiering and POS systems. Previous convenience store experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling, debit, and credit card processing
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure products are properly stocked and faced
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products according to store standards and planograms
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and courteously, both in person and over the phone
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment, receiving deliveries, and stock counts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment at all times
- Manage multiple customer requests efficiently during busy periods
- Perform opening and closing duties (training will be provided)
- Follow store policies and procedures regarding age-restricted products and lottery sales
- Help prevent theft and protect store assets by following loss-prevention procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, customer service, or convenience store operations is preferred
- Must be able to lift at least 15lbs
- Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are considered an asset
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic merchandising practices
- Knowledge of OLG lottery products is considered an asset
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when required
- Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
- Friendly, approachable, and positive attitude with a willingness to engage with customers
- Adaptable, dependable, and calm under pressure
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Experience selling age-restricted products (tobacco, lottery, etc.) is an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
Probationary Period: Successful candidates will be subject to a three (3) month probationary period during which performance, attendance, reliability, and overall suitability for the role will be evaluated.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
