As a Licensed dental assistant ( LDA ) your goals will be coaching patients on the road to improved dental health . The skill sets we are looking for :
Licensure with the British Columbia College of Oral Health professionals as a LDA
Certification from an accredited Canadian school of dental assisting
Active practice of all certified dental assisting skills that differentiate from chairside assisting
Excellent working knowledge of dental software Tracker
Self- sufficiency and self-motivation with a contributions toward total team work
Leadership qualities
Manage time and resources well.
Self-starter with great organization skills and empathetic listening skills
A generous person that trustworthy, joyful and supportive that works diligently with great care and efficiency.
Responsibilities
As licensed dental assistant you will be continuously learning in your field of expertise to continually expand and attune your skill set. Application of your unique LDA skills are expected in day to day activities as a team player. New skills sets are to embraced. Other responsibilities include:
You will be responsible for:
-protecting and providing a safe, clean and comfortable environment for your patient
-being your best in showing the patient hospitality and care
- respect patient autonomy and confidentiality
-strong written and verb communication skills
-attention to detail and follows instruction
-assisting the dentist at chairside and being the liaison from reception to the operatory
-educating patients on oral hygiene care and post-operative care.
-ability to take digital radiographs/ orthopantogram radiographs and digital photography
-being a helping hand as part of a team assisting with sterilization procedures and operatory set -up and clean up.
-proficiency in dental record keeping and management of electronic charting nuances
-dealing with sundries and orders as required
- perform duties as listed in the Health Professions Act of BC
-assist with laboratory procedures including pouring up stone models, curing and trimming models
- excellent skills in alginate impression taken; pouring up stone casts and mounting as required; making whitening trays; taking bite records and digital impressions with intra oral scanners; fabrication of provisional restorations; placement of rubber dams.
- perform limited receptionist duties including scheduling appointments ,managing patient records; taking payment; working knowledge of insurance benefit rules.
- provide support to the front desk team as needed with good working knowledge of Word -
- additional asset- with interest in Social media— posting on Instagram or Facebook

Minimum 4 years LDA experience required.
