Canadian Tire Red Deer South is looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused Part-Time Automotive Counter Specialist to join our Automotive team. This position is ideal for someone looking for evening and weekend shifts who enjoys helping customers find the right parts, accessories, and solutions.
What You'll Do
As an Automotive Counter Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for customers seeking automotive products and advice. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting customers in selecting the correct automotive parts, fluids, batteries, accessories, and maintenance products
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service both in person and over the phone
- Looking up automotive parts using electronic catalogues and vehicle information systems
- Recommending products based on customer needs and vehicle specifications
- Supporting the Automotive Service Department with parts requests
- Processing sales and special orders accurately
- Restocking shelves and maintaining merchandise standards
- Keeping the department clean, organized, and well stocked
- Staying current on new automotive products and technology
- Working collaboratively with the retail and automotive service teams
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has previous automotive parts experience or a strong personal interest in automotive repair and maintenance
- Enjoys helping customers solve problems
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Learns quickly and is comfortable using computers and electronic parts catalogues
- Is dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Can work independently while contributing to a team environment
Automotive parts experience is an asset, but not required. We are willing to train candidates who have a genuine interest in vehicles and a desire to learn.
Availability
This is a part-time position with a focus on:
- Evening shifts
- Weeknight availability
- Weekend availability (required)
- Additional shifts may be available during busy seasons
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Comfortable retrieving and stocking automotive merchandise
- Ability to work in both the retail sales floor and automotive parts area
