Project Coordinator (One-Year Term)
The Municipality of Killarney is seeking a Project Coordinator for a one-year term, starting as soon as possible. Reporting to the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, the successful candidate will support a variety of municipal projects, funding initiatives, economic development activities, and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate the feasibility of municipal projects and prepare reports and recommendations for Council and management.
- Research project requirements, products, services, and associated costs to support decision-making.
- Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant and funding applications.
- Ensure funding applications and required reports are completed and submitted within established deadlines.
- Assist with the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and coordinate with consultants throughout project development.
- Monitor ongoing projects and maintain communication with funding agencies and project partners.
- Update the Municipal Accessibility Plan and complete required compliance reporting.
- Assist with Asset Management and Capital Planning initiatives.
- Support Municipal Economic Development projects and initiatives.
- Assist with the planning, organization, and promotion of municipal events and community functions.
- Create public notices, newsletters, promotional materials, and event communications.
- Provide general administrative support, including reception duties, responding to public inquiries, processing payments, and other office functions as required.
QualificationsEducation
- Post-secondary diploma in Project Management, Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of municipal operations is considered an asset.
- Experience with grant writing, project coordination, or municipal administration is an asset.
- Accounting and/or Asset Management experience is considered an asset.
- Experience working in an office environment with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software.

- Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention
Hours of Work
- 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- Some evening and weekend work may be required to attend Council meetings, public meetings, and special events.
This position may lead to a permanent opportunity with the Municipality, subject to organizational needs and successful completion of the one-year term.
Compensation
Salary: $48,875 – $55,010 per year
