We are just setting up at our new location, our main focus will be vehicle repair/ diagnoses and some welding/fabrication.
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanic/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication, assembly, and maintenance within a dynamic industrial environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess basic technical skills, and have a strong interest in developing a career in mechanical and fabrication trades.
Duties
- Assist with rigging, assembly, and disassembly of machinery and structural components
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment including MIG and TIG welders
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for fabrication projects
- Perform plasma cutting, press brake operations, and machining tasks to create or modify parts
- Use calipers and other measurement tools to ensure precision in fabrication work
- Assist with ductwork installation, crane operation, and construction-related tasks
- Support the setup and operation of forklifts for material handling
- Follow safety protocols related to welding, machining, and heavy equipment use
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
Experience
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and fabrication processes preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques (MIG/TIG), and blueprint reading is a plus
- Experience with schematics, assembly processes, or manufacturing environments is advantageous
- Previous exposure to crane operation or ductwork installation is beneficial but not mandatory
- Must possess basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary in fabrication tasks
- Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions accurately, and work safely in a team environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.50-$25.50 per hour
