Job Summary
Danma Kitchen Cabinets Ltd. is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Delivery Driver / Helper to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation, loading, unloading, and placement of cabinetry and related materials from our manufacturing facility to residential and commercial job sites. This is a hands-on position that requires teamwork, attention to detail, and extreme care to prevent damage to finished products.
The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure, and transport boxed cabinets, finished panels, and other cabinetry products using company vehicles, including box trucks, vans, or trailers.
- Organize and secure delivery loads to prevent damage during transportation and ensure efficient unloading at job sites.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Safely unload, carry, and maneuver cabinetry and materials into designated areas at residential and commercial job sites.
- Place products in specified locations according to customer, site supervisor, or project requirements.
- Handle all cabinetry and finished products with care to prevent damage during loading, transportation, and unloading.
- Inspect products before loading and during delivery to identify any damage, missing items, or other concerns.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify delivery paperwork and ensure orders are complete and accurate before leaving the facility.
- Obtain required customer signatures and proof of delivery.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel, delivery issues, and other required documentation.
- Use material-handling equipment safely and effectively, including hand trucks, dollies, straps, and truck ramps.
- Communicate professionally with customers, builders, site supervisors, dispatchers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
- Assist with resolving delivery-related concerns and report any issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with warehouse duties, material handling, and other operational tasks as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle and work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, driver helper, mover, material handler, or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Experience delivering cabinets, furniture, construction materials, or other large finished products is considered an asset.
- A valid Class 5 driver's licence is required for candidates assigned driving responsibilities.
- A clean driver's abstract is required for candidates assigned driving responsibilities.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and maneuver in residential areas, commercial locations, and construction sites.
- Experience using material-handling equipment, such as hand trucks, dollies, straps, and ramps, is an asset.
- Good spatial awareness and the ability to safely maneuver large items in tight or congested areas.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to preventing product damage.
- Ability to follow delivery instructions, schedules, routes, and safety procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to adapt to changing delivery schedules and priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
