Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Coordinator - Planning, Performance and Integration to join our dynamic Organ & Tissue Donation & Transplant team.
As the national coordinating agency for organ and tissue donation and transplantation health care services in Canada, Canadian Blood Services’ Organ and Tissue Donation & Transplantation (OTDT) program collaborates with partners and stakeholders (internal and external) to develop and strengthen the foundational elements that contribute to a high-performing organ and tissue donation and transplantation system and to develop, operate and evolve the registries through which Canadian Blood Services’ supports the sharing of solid organs-for-transplant within and across provincial boundaries. Canadian Blood Services’ OTDT Program also acts as the Secretariat for the System Operators Advisory Committee, which is the senior advisory committee in the governance structure that oversees all pan-Canadian collaboration in ODT health care services.
As a member of Canadian Blood Services (CBS), you report to the Manager, Planning, Performance and Integration, and coordinate activities that contribute to the OTDT program’s strategic and operational planning, internal and external reporting, program evaluation, and the development of annual goals and long-term workplans. You work closely with the entire OTDT team and internal corporate stakeholders. You are capable of coordinating a range of deliverables, activities, projects, and assignments. You support and/or back up the work of others on the team and in your functional group whenever required.

Leveraging your skills in coordination and planning, you will, under the supervision of the Manager, Planning, Performance and Integration, coordinate activities that contribute to strategic and operational planning, internal and external reporting, evaluation, risk management, and the annual development of team goals. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting the development and continuous improvement of planning documents, planning processes, internal and external reports, contribution agreements, budgets, annual work plans, and performance measures.

Building on your ability to foster relationships, you will build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and support integration activities within the OTDT program and with other divisions in Canadian Blood Services.

Using your experience in continuous improvement, you will coordinate and support continuous improvement activities, initiatives, and projects, identify opportunities to improve existing business processes, and support the development of new processes, as required.

Applying your strength in managing deliverables, you will coordinate and support the timely completion of other deliverables, projects, and activities, as assigned.

Post-secondary education preferred (an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered).

Minimum 3–5 years relevant experience, preferably in the not-for-profit or health care sector.

Experience coordinating activities in any of these areas considered an asset: governance, advisory committees or working groups, event planning/coordination, stakeholder relations, operational planning, corporate reporting, business processes and controls, or quality.

Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to support colleagues and stakeholders.

Proven ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment.

This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.

You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.

If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our office location in head office in Ottawa – 1800 Alta Vista Dr, Ottawa, Ontario, once a year for in-person team meetings, and as required.
