Action Force transport is a growing business since its inception more than 20 years ago. The headquarters are located in Brampton Ontario, western terminal in Langley BC, central terminal in Calgary AB and eastern terminal in Montreal QC. The existing business is of long haul, LTL temperature controlled inter modal transportation from east to west coast in Canada.
JOB DESCRIPTION
OPERATIONS
Entering load details, pickup/drop-off windows, and specific shipping instructions into the Transportation Management System TMW.
Handling load papers, confirmations, POD, BOL etc. and attachment to the relevant orders to ensure correctness of backup and invoicing.
Verifying addresses, reference numbers, and weight limits to prevent missed pickups or other operational issues.
Finding, booking, and assigning freight loads to drivers.
Mapping out efficient travel routes while keeping track of weather, traffic, and road conditions.
Understanding road and highway networks to optimize travel time.
Checking in with drivers and using GPS tools to follow the progress of shipments in real time.
Handling unexpected issues like truck breakdowns, traffic jams, and delayed appointments.
Updating customers on delivery times and giving drivers new pickup or drop-off instructions.
Keeping records of trips, reviewing driver logs, and managing compliance or billing details.
Managing schedules for multiple drivers, tracking routes, and dealing with paperwork simultaneously.
Using Transportation Management Software, GPS tracking, and digital load boards like load link.
Knowing Hours of Service (HOS) laws to ensure drivers do not legally exceed their driving limits
Monitoring driver wait times closely to ensure trailers are unloaded and reloaded within strict, tight windows.
Instructing drivers to pre-cool the refrigerated trailer (reefer) to the exact required temperature before arriving at the shipper.
Regularly checking reefer telematics data or driver logs to confirm the unit stays on continuous run or cycle as mandated by the cargo type.
Knowing the precise temperature requirements for different goods to prevent cargo claims.
Analyzing cargo dimensions to fill trailers to maximum legal weight or volume limits, avoiding empty dead space.
Maintaining good driver/ops team relationships.
SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE
Reaching out to manufacturers or brokers during their peak shipping seasons to promise them a dedicated number of trucks.
Consistently moving spot-market loads reliably to convince shippers to sign long-term, predictable freight contracts.
Convincing freight brokers to give you the highest possible paying rates for a load.
Informing shippers about capacity crunches or upcoming weather delays, positioning yourself as a trusted logistics consultant rather than just a vendor.
Setting up initial profiles, credit checks, and specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for potential customers.
Delivering specialized daily or weekly spreadsheets to high-value clients tracking their precise On-Time Delivery percentages.
Calmly handling customer complaints regarding damaged cargo, shorted pallets, or unexpected accessorial fees (like detention or lumper charges).
Reviewing a current customer's shipping patterns and pitching them to handle their other geographic routes.
Conducting regular check-ins and professional follow-ups with high-volume logistics managers to ensure your company remains their top-of-mind carrier.

Required experience:
2 years of truck dispatching and customer service.
