The Pharmacy Assistant / Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional patient care and customer service by working collaboratively with team members and healthcare professionals. The Pharmacy Assistant / Technician is responsible for all administrative duties related to the scheduling and dispensing of medication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately labeling and preparing medications and signing off on prescriptions for review by the Pharmacist
- Scheduling patient deliveries
- Creating delivery labels and packaging medication for delivery when required
- Assisting in inventory management by properly ordering, receiving and storing medications and other products
- Contacting healthcare professionals or patients for medication renewals
- Processing payments and reconciling owed balances when applicable
- Timely filing of documents and prescription hard copies in accordance with provincial requirements.
- Answering telephone calls and emails and escalating to the pharmacist as appropriate
- Performing other duties as assigned including cleaning the pharmacy
Skills and Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Technician within Ontario
- Excellent phone etiquette
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Higher salary for having the ability to input
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per year
