BGC South East is currently seeking the following position:
Custodian - Part time
- West End Community Centre (1300 Bath Road)
- Contract
- Part -Time Position
- Must be available weekends 8:00am -6:00pm (hours vary), weekdays 4:00pm - 10:00pm
- Rate - $18.00 - $19.00/hour
Overview:
This position will perform daily program area cleaning duties, pool cleaning duties, and duties assigned by the Associate Director, Facilities & Transportation
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning floors with broom and/or mop or Tenant electric floor scrubber, glass, mirrors and numerous other touch spots throughout the facility, such as counters, door handles, and light switches.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of bathroom sinks, toilets, and showers, also checking them on a regular basis.
- Report any damages or peculiarities to the facility supervisor in order to keep the building in great working order.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the entire West end location including turf, program rooms, offices and jungle gym. Other locations may be scheduled for holiday relief, or last minute coverage.
- Locking up the building at the end of the night (key holder).
Job Requirements:
- Previous cleaning/custodial experience.
- Experience with a Tenant electric powered floor scrubber, and swimming pool maintenance would be an asset.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- TDP (10 year booster) and MMR immunizations must be up to date.
- Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check)
- CPR/first aid Standard Level C
