We are currently seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our asphalt paving crew.
Responsibilities
- Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently on residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial paving projects.
- Grade and prepare driveways, parking lots, and roadways for asphalt placement.
- Load and move gravel, asphalt millings, topsoil, and other construction materials.
- Perform fine grading to meet required elevations, slopes, and drainage specifications.
- Assist with excavation, site preparation, and cleanup.
- Work closely with the paving foreman, grade person, paver operator, and labourers to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required inspection reports.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and Ontario health and safety regulations.
- Assist with other paving and construction duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a skid steer in the asphalt or construction industry is required.
- Experience with grading and preparing surfaces for asphalt is preferred.
- Ability to read grades, understand slope, and produce accurate finished surfaces.
- Knowledge of safe equipment operation and routine maintenance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
- Valid G driver's licence required (DZ licence is an asset).
- Ability to work long hours during the paving season, including occasional weekends.
- Physically fit and capable of performing construction-related tasks.
- Reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious.

- CSA-approved work boots

- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Appropriate work pants (jeans or cargo-style work pants)
