Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations and medication componding. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves and tracking medication supplies
- Enter patient information and prescription details into pharmacy systems
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology and medication administration protocols
- Maintain clean and organized work environment to meet safety standards
- Support in processing insurance claims and billing as needed
- compounding medication under direct supervison of a pharmacist
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of pharmaceuticals
Skills
- Previous pharmacy experience is highly desirable
- Experience as a pharmacy assistant is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in prescriptions and records
- Compassionate patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools is preferred
