The Community Capacity Coordinator will work collaboratively with local employers,
service providers, schools, community organizations, and newcomers to identify
community needs, build partnerships, develop resources, and improve community
readiness for newcomer integration.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting people, facilitating
conversations, building relationships, and creating positive community change.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct community needs assessments and identify service gaps.
- Build relationships with employers, community organizations, and service
providers.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings and community engagement activities.
- Develop tools, resources, and referral guides.
- Support cultural awareness and newcomer inclusion initiatives.
- Organize workshops, training sessions, and community events.
- Monitor project outcomes and prepare reports.
- Promote collaboration and shared solutions across sectors.
Qualifications
We welcome applicants with:
- A Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Community Development,
Education, or a related field; or
- Relevant lived experience working with newcomers, diverse populations,
community initiatives, or social support programs.

- Excellent organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of newcomer settlement challenges and community resources is an
asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google based programs, and online
communication tools.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to attend occasional evening or community events.
- Successful criminal record check.
