Job Summary
We are seeking a recent graduate or early‑career Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Technologist to join our Operations Team and support the deployment of our IoT‑based water monitoring and damage mitigation systems. This is a hands‑on role ideal for candidates looking to gain real‑world experience in both field operations and mechanical system design. The position involves on‑site system installations, testing, training, and troubleshooting, along with the use of CAD software to support system layouts, mechanical designs, and project documentation. You will work closely with senior engineers, installers, and cross‑functional teams in a supportive, learning‑focused environment. This role is well suited for motivated, detail‑oriented candidates who enjoy combining practical fieldwork with technical design skills and want to build a career in the growing IoT and smart building technology space. Duties
Primary duties or responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct on‑site visits and provide system training
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings for system design and implementation
- Plan and prepare for upcoming deployments
- Activate, test, and commission devices
- Set up, manage, and troubleshoot communication networks
- Train end users on deployed systems
- Support additional projects as assigned by management
- Perform post‑installation support, including:
- Troubleshooting system issues
- Analyzing device connectivity reports
- Ensuring optimal system and connectivity performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- (Advanced degrees are considered an asset)
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
- Ability to interpret hydronic riser layouts for heating and cooling systems
- General construction knowledge is an asset
- Experience in mechanical construction is an asset
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable using computers and its related basic softwares for a variety of tasks
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and changing project demands
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
Pay: $48,500.00-$58,500.00 per year
