About the role:
The Corporate Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations. The Corporate Accountant will manage the month-end close, AR, AP, Banking Activities, GL Reconciliations, budgeting and other ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping including Bank Reconciliations, A/R, A/P, preparation of invoices and credit memos to Clients, recording daily bank transactions, periodical check run and monthly Aging Reports.
- Process Client credit cards on Moneris platform on priority basis with accuracy.
- Support daily preparation of cash flow and cash forecasts.
- Process receipts/invoices of expenses made on corporate credit cards, entering them in Excel (using the Pivot Tables) and passing relevant journal entries to book these expenses.
- Processing employee expense reimbursements and booking journal entries.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling various accounts to support the month-end process, revenue reconciliation for HST purposes, and support monthly/yearly closing entries.
- Make necessary changes in Sales Force to align payment status of clients in accordance with daily payment received.
- Conversion of periodical payment reports from Sales Force to Excel and presentation to the management on a monthly basis
- Monthly revenue (total and per sales reps) reconciliation between Sales Force and Quick Books.
- Ensure that all IT software is renewed in a timely manner and maintain an IT Sheet to ensure all changes are recorded.
- Ensure periodical reconciliation of inter-company balances, maintaining an efficient filing system and preparation of ad hoc reports as required from time to time.
- Ensure that financial stability is maintained throughout the Corporation and take steps to reduce costs and maintain budgets vs actuals.
- Assist in year-end procedures, preparing year-end reports, passing final closing Journal Entries to complete the year-end procedure.
- Assist in general operations projects from time to time.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accounting is a must.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in full-time bookkeeping and accounting.
- Strong computer skills including QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs.
- Working knowledge of SalesForce.com Is an asset.
- Meticulous record keeping and strong attention to detail with high accuracy for numbers.
- Must be able to prioritize, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and able to maintain a pleasant workstation at all times.
