We are looking for a skilled and passionate Baker / Pastry Cook to join our team. This position starts at 2:00 AM with baking duties until approximately 7:00 AM, followed by working with dough until 9 am. The ideal candidate has previous experience in both baking and laminated dough production, is reliable, detail-oriented, and preferably has access to a vehicle due to the early start.
Responsibilities
- Start shift promptly at 2:00 AM for baking pastries, croissants, and other items according to our established recipes and quality standards.
- Transition into dough production, focusing on laminated doughs such as croissants and danishes.
- Assist with daily production of cakes, tarts, and other baked goods as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in compliance with food safety standards.
- Monitor and manage ingredient inventory, notifying management when reordering is needed.
- Contribute to new product development, including seasonal specials.
- Follow all operational and sanitation procedures with consistency and care.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a baker or pastry cook in a professional bakery or restaurant setting.
- Solid knowledge of baking techniques and lamination processes.
- Proficiency in cake and pastry decorating is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for product quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, early morning environment.
- Reliable transportation (preferred due to early start time).
- Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Passion for baking and dedication to the craft.
