OVERVIEW
Richmond Packaging is seeking a skilled and certified Electrician with strong experience in industrial automation and manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical and control systems to support efficient production operations. The ideal candidate brings hands-on PLC experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or within a team.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, and automation systems in a manufacturing environment
- Program, troubleshoot, and interpret PLC ladder logic and configure Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production
- Inspect and examine equipment to detect faults and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Perform installation, dismantling, reassembly, calibration, and repair of production equipment and control systems
- Support setup, installation, and maintenance of production and auxiliary equipment
- Design and modify electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation control systems as required
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify causes of equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Execute and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules
- Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve system reliability
- Respond to maintenance calls independently or as part of a team
- Carry out tasks as directed by the Senior Maintenance Technician.
- Follow the required company SOP’s, Procedures and Health & Safety standards to maintain an efficient and safe working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Certified Electrician (Industrial preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with PLCs, including troubleshooting and programming
- Strong knowledge of:
- PLC systems and ladder logic
- Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, relay logic, and control drawings
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (flexible packaging preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work afternoon and night shifts
- On-call or overtime may be required based on operational needs
- Physically capable of performing maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working with machinery

Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
