Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Companion/Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to an elderly woman living in Waterloo . This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors or individuals with disabilities by offering companionship, assistance with daily activities, and ensuring their comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, responsible, and experienced in providing high-quality home care.
Duties
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and engaging environment
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately according to prescribed schedules
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Monitor health status and communicate any concerns to family members or healthcare professionals
- Provide transportation for appointments or errands as needed
- Follow care plans and document care provided diligently
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of clients at all times
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care preferred
- Strong background in patient care, senior care, dementia care, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary requirements
- Experience with caregiving tasks such as cleaning and household management is a plus
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine desire to improve clients’ quality of life
This position is ideal for caring individuals committed to providing respectful, attentive, and professional home care services.
Pay: $17.20-$31.66 per hour
