Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Grocery Clerk/Cashier to join our retail team. Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Scan items, handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with precision
- Upsell products and promote store specials to increase sales opportunities
- Restock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure an appealing store environment
- Maintain cleanliness of checkout counters and surrounding areas
- Provide product demos or assistance when needed to enhance customer engagement
- Address customer inquiries courteously via phone or in person
- Manage inventory levels and report discrepancies promptly
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays and signage
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail technology tools
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle busy periods efficiently
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills including phone etiquette and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities
