We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Junior Technical Compliance Specialist. This position reports to Software Architect and will work in Vancouver, BC.
Vancouver:
Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.
As Junior Technical Compliance Specialist of the Vancouver team, you will support the preparation of Dometic’s connected products for compliance with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). In this role, you will work closely with embedded software developers, product teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders to gather technical information, document product security practices, and support CRA compliance activities.
This position combines technical understanding, cybersecurity awareness, and structured documentation. You will translate engineering design / documentation into clear compliance materials, assist in creating Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs), document secure development lifecycle activities, and help establish repeatable processes for future product releases.
This is an 18-month fixed-term role focused on supporting CRA documentation activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to Dometic's long-term product cybersecurity and compliance initiatives. Based on business needs and individual performance, the role may be extended or converted to a permanent position. This role is well suited for recent graduates or early-career candidates. We encourage applications from candidates with relevant co‑op, internship, or academic project experience.
General Responsibilities
- CRA Compliance Support: Assist engineers and the technical lead in executing cybersecurity compliance activities by following established processes, templates, and guidelines.
- Compliance Requirements Support: Work with the technical lead to understand regulatory and internal compliance requirements and apply them to assigned documentation and evidence-gathering tasks.
- Technical Information Gathering: Work with firmware, software, systems, and hardware teams to collect and document product architecture, design details, and cybersecurity controls.
- Documentation Creation: Produce and maintain technical documentation, compliance reports, risk assessments, evidence packages, and supporting materials required to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
- Compliance Tracking: Monitor documentation status, identify gaps, and ensure required compliance deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Process Support: Contribute feedback and assist with maintaining documentation templates, evidence repositories, and compliance workflows.

Skills & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in engineering environment. Additionally, they will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Technical Communications, or a related field.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce clear, structured, and accurate documentation.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to software, firmware, and connected systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts or regulatory compliance through coursework, internships, or project experience.
Experience creating clear documentation from technical discussions, design information, or engineering artifacts.

- Skills considered to be an asset:
- Experience with the European Union Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, evidence packages, or compliance materials.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity topics such as vulnerability management, secure development practices, software bills of materials (SBOMs), or risk assessments.
- Understanding of embedded systems, firmware development, or connected products.
- Experience with standards such as IEC 62443, harmonized EN 18031.
- Background or coursework in technical writing, product compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory documentation.

The salary for this position ranges from $58,000 CAD to $72,000 CAD per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
