Under the supervision of the Branch manager, the Warehouse Manager plays a
key instrument in driving productivity, accuracy, and smooth operations of the
Warehouse department. This role will be responsible for ensuring overall efficient
functionality of our warehouse while overlooking and managing all warehouse
personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all products, items, and/or materials received are sorted,
labeled, and stored in an orderly fashion according to company policies and
standards.
- Issue lists of incoming and outgoing shipments and items and distribute
them accordingly among the warehouse personnel.
- Partner with Branch and Sales Manager to determine which shipment
requires receiving priority.
- Monitor incoming shipments in an organized manner.
- Review list of outgoing shipments.
- Perform regular stock checks to ensure all items are accounted for.
- Ensure stock is allocated to correct location.
- Pre plan for next day and review: Shipments, truck utilization, reports,
courier, transfers, etc.
- Review and adapt warehouse operations according to shipping schedules.
- Assist warehouse personnel with their tasks as necessary.
- Partner with Branch Manager/ HR for interviewing and training of new
employees.
- Arrange warehouse so there is enough space to store goods for customers.
- Provide Branch Manager with Inventory reports and revolving cycle counts.
- Conduct regular inspections on warehouse conditions, material handling
equipment .
- Supervise and ensure that all safety and emergency policies and procedures
are followed.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following,
and enforcing standards.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of
education and experience.
- 5+ years of warehouse and/or industry related experience preferred (pick,
pack, and ship).
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Warehouse Management System experience is a requirement.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient skills in coaching and talent management.
- Efficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Epicor ERP system experience is an asset.
