Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Kitchen Hand / Dishwasher to join our busy food service team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment to support smooth restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food safety and cleanliness, with some experience in food handling or the food industry preferred. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable restaurant experience and develop skills in meal preparation and food service.
Duties
- Wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assist with basic meal and food preparation tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen work area, including floors, counters, and storage spaces
- Help with organizing supplies and restocking items as needed
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by efficiently managing dishwashing and cleaning duties
- Follow all food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times to prevent contamination
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items (up to 40 pounds)
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food service operations
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings or weekends if required
