Job Summary
We are seeking a caring, energetic, and reliable Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our Before and After School Program. The successful candidate will work with Kindergarten and School Age children in a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for children. This role involves planning and implementing educational activities, supporting children's developmental needs, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Observe and assess individual children's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating effectively with parents and guardians.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with team members to plan daily routines, transitions, and special events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Uphold health and safety standards by following proper hygiene practices and safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate clearly with children using effective language skills in English; bilingual abilities in French or other languages are considered an asset.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing.
- Experience working with children in classroom settings; prior experience with kindergarten and school-age programs is preferred.
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to work Split Shift
