Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Drywall Helper to join our construction team. This role is ideal for individuals interested in building trades and looking to gain hands-on experience in drywall installation and finishing. The Drywall Helper will work closely with experienced carpenters and construction professionals to support various phases of drywall projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Prior construction experience or related skills are a plus, but we welcome applicants eager to learn and grow within the industry.
Duties
- Assist with the installation of drywall panels on walls and ceilings according to project specifications
- Prepare surfaces by measuring, cutting, and fitting drywall sheets as needed
- Help with taping, mudding, and sanding drywall joints for smooth finishes
- Support carpenters with framing, caulking, and other related tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints or project plans to ensure accurate placement of drywall materials
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, and tape measures safely and effectively
- Support the team in completing projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction painting, carpentry, or handyman work is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of blueprint reading is advantageous
- Basic understanding of caulking techniques and drywall installation processes is a plus
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on diverse construction tasks
