Job Summary
Reporting to the Rentals & Signature Events Supervisor, the Event Lead is responsible for supervising rentals and special events at WAG-Qaumajuq. This role serves as the primary on-site contact during events and is responsible for coordinating event operations, supervising bar staff and volunteers, ensuring cash controls are followed, and delivering an exceptional experience for clients and guests.
Working primarily evenings and weekends, the Event Lead plays a key role in ensuring events are executed professionally, safely, and in accordance with WAG-Qaumajuq policies and procedures.
Hours of Work: Casual hours, primarily evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
Event Operations
- Set up, supervise, and close WAG-Qaumajuq bars during events
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for rental clients during events
- Supervise bar staff and volunteers
- Ensure WAG-Qaumajuq policies and procedures are followed throughout events
- Identify and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Communicate event-related concerns and issues to the Rentals & Signature Events Supervisor
Customer Service & Client Relations
- Provide exceptional customer service to rental clients and event guests
- Support a positive and welcoming experience for all event attendees
- Respond professionally and effectively to questions, concerns, and unexpected situations.
Cash Handling & Compliance
- Ensure established cash controls and procedures are followed
- Support accurate event cash handling and reconciliation processes
- Promote responsible service practices in accordance with applicable regulation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Hospitality experience
- Smart Choices Responsible Service Certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
