Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. Candidates must be motivated to make a difference in each patient’s experience. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who focus on the safety and service of each patient.
Employee Class: Casual, nights
Shifts: Monday thru Saturday (19-07:00)
Tentative Start Date: Ongoing
Responsibilities and Duties
- Demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice
- Accurately complete all administrative tasks associated with the position, ie: complete charting, complete any forms required by the facility, communicate information to family and patients verbally/written.
- Connect the patient to devices such as monitoring equipment, IV therapy, and pain medication.
- Closely observing patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
- Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
- Collaborating with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating safe and timely discharge.
- Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active CRNA registration
- Valid Basic Life Support-HCP certification.
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in post-operative surgical care.
- Experience with a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures will be an asset.
- Exceptional use of judgement.
- Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and supportive of others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for prolonged periods of time is required.
Conditions of Employment
- Successful candidate may be required to provide a record of their immunization status
- Successful candidate will be required to provide a certificate of valid ACLS, BLS, and CRNA.
