This role is essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food preparation, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be detail-oriented, and possess a basic understanding of food handling and kitchen operations. Prior restaurant or food service experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following proper sanitation procedures
- Help with basic food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients under supervision
- Ensure proper storage of food items according to safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts
- Follow all food safety guidelines and health regulations to uphold high standards of hygiene
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, or food industry is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds when necessary
- Basic cooking skills or experience with meal preparation is a plus but not required
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for success in this role
Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
