Client Care Representative / Veterinary Receptionist
Full-Time, Permanent Position
Hammonds Plains Veterinary Hospital is looking for a friendly, compassionate and organized Client Care Representative to join our team.
We are an independently owned and operated, full-service small animal hospital serving the Halifax area. Our growing five-doctor practice is supported by a dedicated team that works together to provide exceptional care to our patients and a welcoming experience for their families.
Our Client Care Representatives are often the first and last point of contact for our clients. This is an important role for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, can remain calm in a busy environment and takes pride in making every client and pet feel welcomed, cared for and appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming clients and patients to the hospital
- Answering and managing a multiline telephone system
- Scheduling appointments and accurately recording client information
- Making and receiving follow-up calls
- Responding to and managing email correspondence
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Preparing invoices and treatment estimates
- Obtaining client approval for treatment plans
- Processing payments
- Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients
- Maintaining an organized and welcoming reception area
- Assisting with general housekeeping and administrative duties
- Supporting veterinarians, technicians and other team members as needed

Previous veterinary or medical reception experience is an asset, but we are also open to applicants with strong customer service and administrative experience who are eager to learn.
