HR Coordinator

This position is part-time, Monday to Friday, flexible hours.
Position Summary:
The HR Coordinator role will manage and support all branches recruitment, onboarding, performance and termination, policy and procedures, annual evaluations, health and safety, training and benefits.
HR Coordinator is primary for:

Working at other branches to support HR primary tasks

Payroll Administration Back-up
Reporting to the VP of Operations for guidelines and support.
1. Human Resources
-
Manage and support recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding, and performance processes.

Manage recruitment for all departments
-
Support managers in performance-related issues
-
Handle termination-related matters
-
Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Act as a resource for employee questions regarding benefits, policies, and workplace concerns.

Manage and support annual performance evaluations and other employee evaluations
-
Assist with training matrix tracking and employee engagement initiatives.

Develop, review, or improve company policies and procedures
-
Support the leadership team in various projects
-
Support VP of Operations with scheduling and timecard approvals.

Scheduling and timecard approval as needed when other managers are away
3. Health and Safety Leadership
-
Serve as the Employer Co-Chair of Health and Safety for the organization.

Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
-
Lead safety training and ensure regulatory compliance.
-
Coordinate incident investigations and maintain health and safety records.

Ensure WorkSafe BC compliance
4. Payroll Administration - Back-up (not full-time)
-
Processing payroll accurately and on time.

Semi-monthly, Final Pays, bonuses, ROE submissions
-
Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations.

Support tracking of hours, leave, and benefits in coordination with department managers
-
Administration for benefits, RRSP, EHT, and WCB claims/filing

Processing Year-End
Qualifications and Skills:
-
Previous experience in HR or Office Administration preferred
-
Strong people skills with a positive attitude and professionalism
-
Comfortable taking charge in difficult situations
-
Proficiency with computers and online office tools such as HRIS (ADP), Word, Excel, and Google Workplace
-
CPHR designation or working towards a CPHR designation is an asset
-
Experience leading or working with a Joint Health and Safety Committee
