Successful candidates will teach one or more Advanced Placement (AP) courses based on their academic background, teaching experience, and subject expertise. We are looking for educators who can provide engaging and academically rigorous instruction while supporting students in achieving strong academic and AP examination outcomes.

Qualifications
- Relevant university degree(s) in the subject area
- Strong knowledge and academic background in the AP subject(s) being taught
- Previous experience teaching AP courses or other advanced secondary-level courses is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with College Board AP course frameworks, curriculum requirements, and examination expectations is an asset
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC) is preferred
- Experience teaching the BC Curriculum is an asset
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to provide academically rigorous and student-centered instruction

Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the applicable College Board AP course framework and learning objectives.
- Deliver engaging and academically rigorous classroom instruction using appropriate teaching methods, resources, and technology.
- Prepare students for AP examinations through structured instruction, practice assessments, review, and examination strategies.
- Provide tutoring and additional academic support to students when required.
- Assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and examinations and provide constructive feedback.
- Monitor individual student progress and identify areas requiring additional academic support.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, assessments, and academic progress.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student performance and academic development when required.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, academic planning, school events, and other educational initiatives.
- Participate in professional development and remain current with AP course requirements and educational best practices.
- Utilize strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage teaching and academic responsibilities.
Licence/Certification
- BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School Teaching Certificate (ISTC) (preferred)
- AP teaching experience and/or relevant College Board AP training
