Description of the Role
This entry-level position supports gypcrete and concrete placement crews on active job sites. The Labourer works as part of a team and performs physically demanding tasks essential to project delivery. No prior industry experience is required - training will be provided for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
Role Focus
- Primary Role: Project delivery & productivity
- Secondary Role: Quality support
- Additional Role: Safety compliance
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist gypcrete and concrete crews with material handling and site preparation
- Load, unload, and move materials including cement, aggregates, and bagged products
- Set up and break down work areas and equipment
- Operate basic hand tools and jobsite equipment (training provided)
- Support mixing, pumping, and placement activities as directed
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Perform general labour and other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- Entry-level position – no previous experience required
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (mandatory)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting 80 lbs. and standing for long periods
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors
Asset (Not Required)
- Previous general labour, construction, or concrete experience
- Familiarity with construction tools or jobsite safety practices
Compensation & Growth
- Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on reliability, performance, and growth
