We are seeking an energetic, and highly motivated full-time Development Stream Coach and Administrator to join our Recreation Team. As the Development Stream Coach and Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional coaching and administrative leadership for the Club's Junior Gators, Junior Development, and Development programs. This role combines athlete development, coach mentorship, program administration, and family engagement to create a positive, safe, and athlete-centered experience. Working closely with athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers, you will support swimmer progression through the Club's development pathway while ensuring programs are well-organized, effectively communicated, and aligned with the Club's long-term athlete development philosophy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and delivery of the Club's Junior Gators, Junior Development, and Development training programs, providing high-quality coaching during practices, competitions, and training camps
- Design and implement seasonal and daily training plans that support long-term athlete development and prepare swimmers for advancement into senior competitive programs
- Monitor athlete progress, provide regular feedback to swimmers and families, and communicate development updates to the Performance Coach
- Mentor and support development coaches by providing guidance, practice planning resources, onboarding support, and ongoing coaching feedback
- Oversee program administration, including swimmer assessments, athlete intake, registrations, record management, and family communications
- Coordinate and support competitions, training camps, club events, and coach scheduling while preparing required reports and ensuring operational readiness
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative club culture by building strong relationships with athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and officials
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and governing body standards while maintaining coaching certifications, supporting staff development, and pursuing ongoing professional growth
Qualifications:
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level 2 certification is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience coaching year-round competitive swimmers, with a strong understanding of long-term athlete development principles
- Working knowledge of Swimming Canada, Swim Alberta, and competitive swimming regulations
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing coaches within a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational, planning, administrative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with athletes, families, staff, and volunteers
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR certification (or the ability to obtain), along with a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Experience using athlete registration and communication software (Northstar or similar systems is considered an asset)

Additional Details:
This is a full-time position that reports to the Gators Director. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
