Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Labourer to join our team and assist with various construction projects. This role involves supporting skilled tradespeople in building, repairing, and restoring structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be eager to learn, and possess basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry and opportunities to develop a wide range of skills including carpentry, plumbing, welding, and more.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including clearing debris and setting up materials
- Use hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and caulking guns to perform assigned tasks
- Support carpentry work by measuring, cutting, and assembling materials according to blueprints or schematics
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate project execution
- Participate in restoration projects and perform construction painting as needed
- Assist with plumbing tasks including pipe installation and repairs
- Support welding operations by preparing materials and assisting welders on-site
- Help with flooring installation, tile laying, and other finishing tasks
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience with hand tools and basic construction techniques is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of construction trades such as carpentry, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, or tile laying is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is advantageous
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Reliable transportation or access to job sites as required
- Commitment to safety standards and procedures on all job sites
