Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our busy restaurant team. This role is essential in ensuring the timely preparation of high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste, presentation, and food safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent kitchen skills, and experience in a fast-paced food service environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards
- Cook menu items accurately and efficiently during service hours
- Assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Support the kitchen team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs for restocking ingredients or supplies
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of kitchen equipment and handling hot items
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a line cook in a restaurant setting
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of meal preparation processes and kitchen operations
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on teamwork and communication
- Familiarity with the food industry standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and safety
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment are preferred
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a passion for delivering quality food to customers
