On-Call Self-Management Facilitator / English & French Educator
For Students Ages 2.5 to 14
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and passionate Self-Management Facilitator and Educator to support students ages 2.5 to 14 in developing essential life and learning skills. This role focuses on helping students build self-management, emotional regulation, independence, responsibility, confidence, communication skills, and positive learning habits.
The ideal candidate will be able to guide students through age-appropriate activities that support personal development, classroom readiness, social-emotional growth, and academic confidence. On-call English Teachers and French Teachers are also welcome to join our educational team.
This position requires strong communication skills with students, parents, and team members, as well as excellent classroom management, punctuality, responsibility, and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs. Experience working with children, young learners, or students with special needs is highly valued.
The successful candidate will create a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to grow, participate, and become more independent learners.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate activities that help students develop self-management, focus, responsibility, independence, and emotional regulation
- Support students in building positive routines, learning habits, problem-solving skills, and confidence
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans based on students’ needs, abilities, and learning goals
- Deliver engaging instruction in English and/or French using interactive, creative, and student-centered methods
- Support students with diverse learning needs by adapting teaching strategies and providing additional guidance
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
- Encourage students to communicate appropriately, follow expectations, manage emotions, and participate actively
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and the team
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, observations, and student achievements
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to support each student’s development
- Use positive reinforcement and effective classroom management strategies
- Incorporate bilingual instruction when applicable to support students’ understanding
- Utilize classroom technology, educational tools, and multimedia resources effectively
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, tutoring, or classroom settings
- Strong communication skills in English
- French language ability is an asset
- Experience teaching English, French, early learning, or self-management skills is preferred
- Experience working with students with special needs, learning differences, or diverse abilities is an asset
- Understanding of child development, early childhood education, or social-emotional learning is desirable
- Strong classroom management, organization, punctuality, and responsibility
- Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate activities for different learning styles
- Patient, compassionate, flexible, and professional attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and team members
- Basic computer and classroom technology skills
- Relevant certifications, diplomas, or degrees in education, early childhood education, psychology, special education, language teaching, or related fields are an asset
